"We want every FA Playmaker to be confident when it comes to

helping out at training or on matchdays.

That's why we've designed the course around football's brilliant basics."

Across the five modules, there are FA session plans, tried-and-tested techniques, as well as guidance on how to respond to medical emergencies.

All of it is ready-to-use and can be taken straight into any grassroots training session to make a positive difference alongside a fully-qualified volunteer.

Registration to Heathwaite FC is £100 for the season, which is payable as follows: Part seasons are charged at pro-rata rate if joining mid-term..
  • Will my child play in weekend football matches from the begining?
That all depends on the child, but in most cases it can take a few sessions of familiarisation with the team, and some confidence building before introducing a player in to a competitive game.
  • What if my child has medical condition such as asthma?
The FA have set strict guidelines for youth football with regards to medical conditions, but conditions such as asthma are permissible. It is a requirement of registrtion to declare all medical conditions, however small. Please talk to a Manager or our Child Welfare Officer if you have any further questions.

Next Steps? Find new opportunities

Once you’ve become an FA Playmaker, you might ask yourself - what next?

If you know already, that's great!
But in case you're not sure, the course will signpost you to some of the opportunities available to you as an FA Playmaker such as:

Taking up a supporting role alongside a Heathwaite FC qualified coach.

As an FA Playmaker, you'll have knowledge and skills to make a positive difference at your local club, team or initiative.

You won't quite have the qualifications to take on a leading role at training or matchdays - but you'll be in a great position to support a fully qualified coach or organiser.

Becoming an Heathwaite FC Lead Playmaker

If you're over 18 and taking on more of a leading role is your thing, there are steps you can take to become an FA Lead Playmaker.

The most important step you'll need to take is to complete the following add-on qualifications:

Moving into coaching with Heathwaite FC...but only if you want to!

While The FA Playmaker is perfect for helping you take a more active volunteer role in football, it can also be a great stepping stone into coaching.

You'll have lots of new knowledge and skills - as well as experience being out there as an FA Playmaker - to hit the ground running on The FA Level 1.

But that's only if you're interested in becoming a coach.

There's no pressure to take that step if being an FA Playmaker is the right role for you and how you want to support our grassroots game.
